How many types of Elevated Work Platforms?

Aerial Work Platform (AWP) is a mechanical device used for vertical or high-altitude operations, and is widely used in the fields of construction, municipal administration, electricity, warehousing, etc. According to the different structures, driving modes and application scenarios, it is mainly divided into the following categories:

 

1.      Scissor Aerial Work Platform

·         Features: The scissor-type structure is driven by a hydraulic system to rise and fall, with high stability and large load capacity.

·         Applicable Scenarios: Maintenance and installation work on flat indoor surfaces (such as warehouses, workshops, and shopping malls).

·         Subtypes:

          Electric scissor-type:  Quiet and environmentally friendly, suitable for indoor use.

          Diesel scissor-type:    Strong power, suitable for rough outdoor surfaces.

 

2.     Boom Aerial Work Platform

·        Features: Extend the working range through telescopic or folding arms, strong flexibility, and can cross obstacles.

·       Applicable Scenarios: Building exterior wall construction, bridge maintenance, tree pruning and other operations that require a large range of coverage.

·       Subtypes:

Telescopic arm: horizontal telescopic arm, high working height (up to 40 meters or more).

Artificial arm:  The arm section can be bent, suitable for complex spaces (such as bypassing obstacles).

 

3.    Mast-type Aerial Work Platform

·       Features: single mast or multi-mast vertical lifting, compact structure, suitable for narrow spaces.

·       Applicable scenarios: lightweight operations such as interior decoration, lighting installation, warehouse shelf storage and retrieval.

·       Common forms: single mast, double mast, multi-mast (such as four masts)

 

4.   Vehicle-mounted Aerial Work Platform

·      Features: Installed on a truck or special chassis, with strong mobility and convenient transfer.

·      Applicable Senarios: Power repair, street light maintenance, outdoor advertising installation and other operations that require fast movement.

·      Advantages: Combined with the vehicle's driving ability, it is suitable for switching between cities and suburbs.

 

5.   Spider aerial work platform (spider car)

·      Features: lightweight design, equipped with tracks or adjustable legs, can pass through narrow entrances or uneven ground.

·      Applicable Scenarios: indoor venues (such as theaters, exhibition halls), historical building maintenance, complex terrain operations.

·      Advantages: detachable components for easy transportation and strong adaptability.
